Developing Skills On and Off The Mat
The Path To Improvement, Challenges, and Overcoming Adversity.
It’s hard to get started in a new sport, hobby, or habit but it’s often even more difficult to continue to improve in anything as you encounter challenges.
At Texarkana Jiu Jitsu, we work with the kids, teens, men, and women that come into our program with no experience to make getting started easier. Of course, we know that it’s challenging to get into something like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The great thing is that we’re here to help you along the way.
Challenges are there to separate the uncommitted from the committed. You will never become really good, let alone great, at anything without facing and over coming challenges.
Becoming great at anything takes getting started and overcoming these challenges everyone will face along the way.
A good or great skill level is only relevant as a measure against others. In other words, if everyone is good at something then you’re being good at it also means you are average.
If you are better than others at something then you have more skill in that area. The only way for you to develop that degree of skill is through training and experience over time. This skill means you put in the time and effort that others did not. This is what makes it more valuable.
In Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training, you are constantly faced with new challenges that force you to get better. Whether you are a child, teen, or adult… learning how to overcome challenges gives you the tools to better deal with the never-ending challenges we all face over the courses of our life.
