Texarkana Martial Arts Improve Your Child’s Focus
Texarkana Jiu Jitsu’s Kids Martial Arts Program Helps Kids Improve Attention, Focus, and Memory.
Focus and memorization go hand in hand. In a past blog post, I talked about how studying martial arts helps kids focus and behave better in the classroom. Today, I want to tell you how it can improve your child’s memory, too.
Memorization is a key skill for learning.
Memorization requires focus and without the ability to memorize, your child wouldn’t be able to be effective learning any subject in school. It’s what lets them learn how to solve math problems, understand the scientific method, and recall important dates in history.
In many kids, a lack of focus can impede their ability to memorize. Other times, it’s that they just haven’t learned how to commit things to memory.
Studying the martial arts can really help kids improve their ability to learn.
In our martial arts classes, kids develop focus by watching their Jiu Jitsu instructors. They demonstrate a move and kids then replicate it. The repetition builds muscle memory. It also helps with mental as well as physical memory.
In our Jiu Jitsu program, kids earn a new belt by putting in the time learning various techniques and sequences of moves in a fun, motivational environment.
They’ve got to remember to use proper form and execute each move properly. This requires focus. They commit each part of their training to memory.
The memorization skills they learn in our martial arts school are carried over to the classroom.
As they study and progress by earning new belts, they improve their ability to focus and practice memorization not just rote memorization but they are discovering how to learn.
If they’re struggling in school, they may begin to understand that putting their focus and memorization skills to work can help them. They can apply the same skills we teach them to any subject in school. They’ll see an improvement in their performance if they do.
We sometimes think of memory as being something we’re born with… either we have a good memory or we don’t. Studying martial arts teaches your child that focus and memorization is a skill they can master. This is something that will help them throughout their lives.
If your child could use some help with their ability to focus and pay attention so that they develop a better ability to learn and perform at school then…
Right now you can sign up for a special 2 week trial membership.
Your child will learn the importance of focus and memorization in a fun, supportive environment.
Until next time,

PS: In a future blog post, I’ll tell you about how studying martial arts can help prevent bullying. This is an important topic that often interferes with a child’s performance in school and can have so many other devastating consequences that can often cause lifelong problems for them. You won’t want to miss it!
