Two New Women Earn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belts!
Texarkana Jiu Jitsu’s Two New Women Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Purple Belts!
Last night at Texarkana Jiu Jitsu Nadia Fryer and Christina Givens were awarded their purple belts!
A purple belt is a real achievement in Jiu Jitsu that requires a lot of training over several years. A purple belt is the midpoint to black belt. It signifies that the person has a good broad knowledge of Jiu Jitsu techniques and an understanding of most positions. It’s also a stage where the person has developed a particular game that suits their body type, personality, and athleticism.
Nadia has been training with us since starting on our kids program about 10 years ago. She’s been a big part of our program, coaching our youngest kids class, the Little Samurais, for the last few years.
Christina joined us about 2 and a half years ago as an experienced blue belt. She’s become a very important part of our team. She works with other women teaching our women’s self defense Jiu Jitsu. She has really progressed well as she’s put in the time and efforts to improve.
Congratulations to Nadia and Christina on your new purple belts!
